There seems to be a lot of new sets going around lately with labels such as “starter kits” and “travel friendly.” I’m not surprised as most beauty junkies like to be able to try items before investing in the full size product. And if your anything like me, the smaller and cuter the product the more likely you are to make a purchase. I mean who can pass on cute mini lipsticks and nail polishes, am I right?
First up is this new Smashbox ‘Lip Must-Haves’ Set ($29). It comes with one Always Sharp Lip Liner in Rosebud (0.009 oz.), one Be Legendary Lip Gloss in Promise (0.16 oz.) and a Be Legendary Lipstick in Primrose (0.1 oz.). I think this is a great deal for what your getting Considering the lip liner itself is worth $20. And I couldn’t have asked for better colors. What makes this kit even better is that all products are travel friendly.
Shiseido released their new ‘Ultimate Sun Survival’ Kit ($72). This is a limited edition and a great deal considering the kit is worth $141 and you’ll be getting two of their products at full size. The kit includes:
– A full-size Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion SPF 50+ WetForce (3.4 oz.)
– A full-size Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector SPF 42 (1 oz.)
– A bottle of White Lucent MicroTargeting Spot Corrector (0.3 oz.)
– A bottle of their White Lucent Anti-Dark Circles Eye Cream (0.17 oz.)
– One sheet mask of their White Lucent Power Brightening Mask
This kit is great for anyone planning on traveling to a place where there’s more sun than we’re currently getting here in Chicago or if you’re like me and anxious for summer to start.
While the Christian Louboutin Hawaii Kawai sets ($90) came out earlier this year I still thought I’d include them on this list. Louboutin has definitely elevated nail polish to a higher class. The bottles scream sophistication and the formula is one of the best I’ve seen. I’ve only ever purchased one bottle of his, the Limited Edition Scarabee I (sold out everywhere), and I must say it really does feel like I’m wearing something extra special on my nails.
The new Hawaii Kawai sets are also limited edition and I think they’re a great value for what you getting. His nail polishes are usually $50 a bottle but with the set you’ll be getting three for $90. Albeit, they are smaller in size, but if your a nail polish junkie and own 100s of other bottles, owning the smaller size bottles won’t make a difference. Like I said earlier, for some of us the smaller size might actually make all the difference when deciding to purchase.
Josie Maran has launched their new Argan Oil Glowing Complexion Collection ($49). The collection contains:
– 0.5 oz 100% Pure Argan Oil Light
– 1 oz Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation in fair/light
– 0.095 oz Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelée in Poppy Paradise
– 0.17 oz Argan Enlightenment Illuminizing Wand
The collection is meant to brighten the face and give it a luminous and glowing complexion. The Josie Maran Argan Oil is one of the few bottles of face oils I’ve used and actually emptied. We all know how hard it is to use a product and actually finish it. It smells wonderful and feels great on the skin. Definitely not what you’d expect in an “oil” moisturizer, so I’m excited to see what the rest of the products in this kit have to offer.
Last, but definitely not least is Loccitane En Provence’s Relaxing Lavender Voyage Set ($26). I’m a huge fan of Loccitane. I’ve reviewed and mentioned how much I love their hand creams in this post here. I’ve also tried many different variations and scents from their collections. But I must say their lavender collection is one I haven’t tried yet, so it’s no surprise it’s the one that caught my attention. The voyage sets come in Cherry Blossom Floral, Refreshing Verbena, L’Occitan Aromatic, Cedrat Zesty and Relaxing Lavender.
The Relaxing Lavender, Cherry Blossom Floral and Refreshing Verbena all contain:
-Body Lotion 2.5 oz.
-Shower Gel 2.5 oz.
-Soap 3.5 oz.
-Hand Cream 0.34 oz.
The L’Occitan Aromatic and the Cedret Zesty contain:
-Shower Gel 2.5 oz.
-After Shave Cream Gel 1 oz.
-Shave Gel 1 oz.
I think this is a great way to get introduced to L’Occitane or to try any of their ‘new to you’ collections.
With all these introductory and travel friendly sets I’m excited for summer and to start traveling. Have any of you had your eyes on any new travel sets that are out? I’d love to hear what you’ve had your eyes on.
